Originally from eastern Kentucky, Dr. Shana Hughes moved to the area after meeting and marrying her husband, Jason, in 2004. The couple met while showing horses. Two things have remained the same for Dr. Hughes all these years later- Jason & horses. The couple share a son, Otis & a pink farmhouse.
In 2011, she graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. In 2012, she founded The Tooth Booth. Dr. Hughes continued her education with the completion of a mini-residency in Implantology in 2017 at the University of Kentucky. Additionally, Dr. Hughes has completed countless hours of education in facial aesthetics (starting in 2013) by training with some of the best injectors from all over the world. Since 2017, she has been training other medical professionals in facial aesthetics & was even named 2021 Instructor of the Year for injectables (Botox + fillers) by her peers.
Nespresso & Chick-fil-A diet lemonade are the only things that keep her "hydrated." Dr. Hughes enjoys trips to her favorite city (NYC), roller skating, a good bingo hall, long baths, murder podcasts, showing her champion horses, cuddling her dogs & son, and blasting classic rock. Fun fact: she missed her senior prom to see The Rolling Stones on their 40 Licks tour!
Kara grew up in Greensburg, KY. She graduated from Western Kentucky University's dental hygiene program in 2017. She has practiced at The Tooth Booth since 2019. Kara is committed to helping patients maintain their oral health while preventing the dental office from being a high anxiety experience. When Kara is not working with our patients at The Tooth Booth, you can find her snuggled up with her dogs (Tux & Lambeau), and in true @darylanndenner fashion, drinking a #LDC (large diet coke).
Our hygienist, Hilary, grew up in Elkton, KY. She has a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene as an alumnus of Western Kentucky University's Class of 2018. Hilary & her husband (Sheldon) reside in Campbellsville, and enjoy trips to the lake & movie dates. They don't like to be too far from their sweet mini Aussie, Kirby, and daughter, Ruby.
Samantha is a familiar face at The Tooth Booth as an essential team member since 2013. She received her expanded duties dental assistant certification from the University of Louisville, and trained alongside Dr. Hughes during her implant residency at the University of Kentucky. Samantha loves being a part of every patient experience, but especially complete smile makeovers & oral surgeries.
"There is never a dull moment at The Tooth Booth"
Outside of work, Samantha enjoys indoor gardening, coffee gadgets, & spending time with her husband, Jordan, and their dog, Harlequin.
Jessica has been an expanded duties dental assistant since 2019 as a graduate of The Medical Institute of Kentucky. She was quickly added to The Tooth Booth team following her externship with us. Jessica loves assisting with crown & veneer appointments and all of the creativity that goes with it. She loves being part of the life-changing before and afters, and prides herself on creating a calm patient experience. You will find her in treatment rooms 1 & 2 listening to 80s & 90s rock during our office hours.. Outside the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and their 4 dogs.

Abbi graduated from The Medical Institute of Kentucky before accepting her dream position on the leopard carpet in 2020 as an expanded duties dental assistant. Since then, she's become the go-to-girl for facial aesthetic appointments. She loves helping patients to regain their confidence. You can find her in rooms 3 & 4 admiring her plants & disco balls. Outside the office, Abbi enjoys spending her time shopping at Target, drinking a Starbucks coffee, & curling up with her two dogs, Ari and Lenny.
Madison has been in the aesthetic industry for many years, graduating from Empire Cosmetology School in 2013. Madison is passionate about skincare & devoted to continuing education & training with the latest advancements in her field. She loves to help patients achieve their skincare goals to help them feel more comfortable & confident.
"I'm here to help patients figure out the best approach to their specific needs by teaching the use of medical grade skincare, while helping to direct them alongside Dr. Hughes toward the in-office skin services that will best achieve their aesthetic goals. I'm happy to help patients realize that Dr. Hughes can't do her best with injectables, if they aren't also doing their best with their skin."
In her spare time you can find her with her dog, Sadie, or listening to a true crime podcast!
Gabriele was born in Amberg, Germany. She came to the United States in 1984. Gabriele worked in a hospitality setting as hotel manager for 10 years, then as an electronic monitoring supervisor for 15 years. She has since found a new home in the front office at The Tooth Booth, and our team AND patients are so happy to have her.

Originally from Georgia, Dianna & family have called the Bluegrass sate home for over a decade. In 2019, this stay-at-home mom of three was ready for a new adventure & turns out the leopard carpet was just what she was looking for! When not greeting patients, you can find Dianna poolside cheering on her favorite swimmers or in the kitchen whipping up a batch of her famous red velvet cupcakes!
Ramona brings 20+ years of management, insurance, & accounting experience to The Tooth Booth, along with a lifetime of managing Dr. Hughes (it's funny because she's her mom). She & husband, Kevin, reside in Columbia. She enjoys riding & showing her champion horses, spending time with family, cooking out, and riding on the back of Kevin's motorcycle. She's probably watched every episode of Snapped ever made. True crime seems to be a theme here, huh?
Jason stays busy completing our office honey-do lists that's ran by 10+ women which honestly doesn't leave time for much else. In addition to being the office-wide handyman, he chauffeurs our team transport bus to conferences, continuing education, & team field trips. Jason is responsible for transport of our Training Academy guests as well. In his spare time, Jason trains and cares for the family's horses, manages the pink farmhouse, and is responsible for handling Dr. Hughes--perhaps his biggest job!
Annie, an Aussiedoodle, is the "doGtor" here. She completed rigorous training to be a comfort dog in a medical setting! She's no joke in the snuggle department, but often likes to play hard-to-get. You'll get her best response by also playing hard-to-get: don't speak to her overly excited (she's working remember), avoid eye-contact (it can sometimes intimidate her), and just wait for her to approach you as she wanders the office greeting and checking on patients to aide us in a stress-free environment for all. When Annie isn't on the clock, she lives with Dr. Hughes, Jason, Otis, & her Cockapoo fur sister, Flossy Jane. She enjoys naps, her favorite stuffed animal (Bun Bun), & adding to her extensive bandanna collection. She will offer extra comfort for treats, so don't be surprised if she slyly tries checking your pockets or purse while you're in.
