botox3optWhy Talk to Us About BOTOX®?

With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why BOTOX® Cosmetic has been chosen by millions.

What is BOTOX?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, lines of the forehead, and crow’s feet lines in adults.

Derived from sources that exist in nature, BOTOX® Cosmetic contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. Formulations, potency, and approved doses vary among botulinum toxin products, which means that one product cannot take the place of another. Those are a few reasons why there is no such thing as a “generic” form of BOTOX® Cosmetic. There have been no studies to support that other products are Unit-to-Unit equivalent to BOTOX® Cosmetic which is why we stick to the proven product with no off-brand cosmetic products.

How does BOTOX work?

Injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic into the muscles that cause lines temporarily reduces the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines. botox boxBOTOX® Cosmetic targets the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Dr. Hughes will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity so you will begin to notice a visible smoothing.

Visible results have been shown to last up to 4 months.  Your own results may vary.

Non-Surgical with No Downtime
It’s a simple, nonsurgical, 10-minute procedure with NO DOWNTIME. Called a “lunchtime procedure”, treatment REQUIRES NO ANESTHETIC and NO RECOVERY.  Botox can easily be included in your routine dental visits (in fact, you will receive a $1/unit discount when booking your Botox procedure(s) in conjunction with tour dental re-care appointments).

Treatment Areas

As a dental professional, Dr. Hughes specializes in aspects of Botox treatment foreign to other practitioners (including the treatment of “gummy smiles” and bruxism), since our team takes great consideration in how the teeth and smile relate to the surrounding facial tissues for an overall facial esthetic and comfort.

The treatment of a “gummy smile” usually requires around 4 units of Botox.

bruxism trigger points

Bruxism is the clenching or grinding of the teeth which can cause all sorts of problems including worn/broken/fractured teeth, chronic head/neck aches, strained vision, ear pain, tempromandibular joint pain/clicking, and enlarged/squared jawline.  Botox injections into the muscles responsible for bruxism relaxes these areas resulting in a diminished force of these muscles and the betterment of observed symptoms as a result.

jaw reduction

The treatment of bruxism using Botox takes about 10 units per trigger area (so around 20 units total since a muscle cannot be treated unilaterally).

Potential Risks

While side effects are very uncommon, they may include headache, flu-like symptoms, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. The Tooth Booth uses only FDA-approved Botox® Cosmetic brand toxin which is manufactured by Allergan and is the leading brand on the market.

At The Tooth Booth, we only offer Botox—no brand substitutions—for $12/unit.  Save money and get your Botox for $11/unit when it’s administered at your regularly scheduled dental re-care appointment.  We know that off brands bolster a lower unit price, but we also know that Botox is the #1 market leader in it’s group thanks to it’s potency and longevity (which means fewer units needed thanks to brand name Botox’s efficacy and Dr. Hughes’ administrating skills).
