Tips for Using the Dual-pump TNS Chamber

SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced + AND Essential has a very unique dual-pump chamber with an efficient vacuum system. It’s a very effective way to help get the products all the way up and out so you’re using every last drop. But because it is not the typical straw that you would see going down into the bottle, it does require a little bit of priming to get the product going.

The product line itself actually suggests that you go ahead and invert the bottle, tip it upside down and tap it into the palm a few times to prime the pump getting the vacuum system up and running.

Because it’s also a unique, dual chamber system, there are a few other things you can do to prevent clogging. In the very front are a couple holes. When you first get your product and it’s not all coming out, you can take your forefinger and press it tight over those holes and pump 10 to 15 times. This draws any excess air up and out of the chambers.

To help keep your product from getting clogged or to clean out any dried pieces from blocking the action, remove the very top (it will pop right off). You can see the little pumps now to clean it well. You can actually take a paperclip to lightly clean out those holes to clear the path for the chamber.

Last but not least, don’t forget because it is a dual chamber system, you want to make sure that you’re pumping right down the middle of the product. Use two fingers (like bunny ears) so you’re drawing both of them up very evenly. She careful not to pump to either side but right down the middle, so that it pumps very equal portions from each of the dual chambers.

Last, but not least, my personal secret trick is to store it upside down. It’s been smooth sailing since I started this. Remember to “prime” your brand new TNS every single time—this isn’t a trouble shooting trick, but is suggested with every new pump.
